A fiber optic pigtail is a short, single-ended optical fiber cable with a connector on one end and exposed fiber on the other. Unlike a patch cord (which has connectors on both ends), a pigtail is designed to be spliced or connectorized to another fiber in a permanent or semi-permanent installation.
